AskTheAuthor turns what you know into a book readers can read, hear in your voice, and ask questions about. These Terms are the agreement between you and Living Forever AI, which operates AskTheAuthor.

They cover asktheauthor.ai, app.asktheauthor.ai, your author page, and everything we build for you (the “Services”). By creating an account you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Agreement. If you do not agree, do not create an account.

The Services are currently offered to people in the United States, and to code holders wherever they are.

1. Who can use AskTheAuthor

AskTheAuthor is for adults.You must be at least 18 years old to create an author account, and at least 18 to buy a book or talk to an author’s twin. By using the Services you represent that you are.

The Services are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has used the Services, write to info@asktheauthor.ai and we will delete what we hold.

Readers do generate data. Buying a book, asking a twin a question by typing or speaking, and starting our public video demo all create records. What we collect and how long we keep it is in our Privacy Agreement.

2. Your account

Give us accurate information when you sign up and keep it current. You are responsible for your login credentials and for what happens under your account. Tell us at info@asktheauthor.ai if you think someone else has access to it.

You must be 18 or older to create an account or to buy anything from us, whether you are an author or a reader.

There are two kinds of account. An author account is where a book is made. A reader account is where what you have bought is kept. One person can hold both.

An author account belongs to one author. You may not create a book, a voice, or a twin for another person using your account. The voice and the likeness in an AskTheAuthor book have to belong to the person whose name is on it.

3. What AskTheAuthor does

The Services include:

• Book creation. You talk or type through a guided set of questions about your topic and each chapter. We use your recordings, your typed answers, and any material you upload to draft a book you then edit and approve.
• Voice narration. We create a clone of your voice from your own talk recordings and use it to narrate your book. You can instead choose one of our ready-made voices, or supply an ElevenLabs voice you already own.
• Your Author Twin. An interactive version of you that answers reader questions about your book, grounded in what you gave us.
• Your author page. A public page at yourname.talk2mybook.com that holds your books, your audiobooks, your bio, and your twin.

The Services use artificial intelligence, including large language models and voice cloning, provided by the vendors named in our Privacy Agreement. Your chapters are drafted from your own material. The result is a draft you review, edit, and approve. Nothing publishes until you say so.

What we do not promise. AI writing and voice cloning are imperfect. A draft may misstate something you said, and a cloned voice may not match you in every line. That is why you review and approve every chapter and hear your own audio before anything goes live.

4. Your book and your content

You own it

You own everything you give us: your recordings, your typed answers, your uploads, your photographs, and your bio. You also own the finished book we help you produce, including its text and the cover you approve.

You may sell your book anywhere else. Publish it on Kindle, sell it from your own site, hand it to a traditional publisher, or give it away. We take no exclusivity and no rights in your work beyond what we need to run the Services for you.

The license you give us

To do the work you have asked for, you grant Living Forever AI a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, process, transcribe, format, generate from, narrate, host, display, and transmit your content, solely to provide the Services to you and to the readers you publish to.

This license does not include the right to train AI models on your content. We do not use your recordings, your manuscript, your photographs, or your voice to train, develop, or improve any AI or machine learning model, ours or a vendor’s.

The license ends when you close your account and your data is deleted, except for records we are required to keep and described in our Privacy Agreement.

What you are promising us

• You own or have the right to submit everything you give us.
• Your material does not infringe anyone else’s copyright, trademark, privacy, or publicity rights.
• If your book quotes, describes, or names another person, you have the rights and permissions you need to do that.
• Your material is not unlawful, defamatory, or harmful.

5. Your voice and your likeness

Cloning your voice creates a voiceprint, which state law treats as a biometric identifier. The disclosures required under the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA), the Texas Capture or Use of Biometric Identifier Act (CUBI), and the Washington State Biometric Identifier Law are in Section 2 of our Privacy Agreement, along with an explanation of why your raw recordings and your author photo are handled as sensitive personal information rather than as biometric identifiers.

By using the parts of the Services that involve your voice or your likeness, you confirm:

• You have read the disclosures in our Privacy Agreement.
• You gave consent through the consent step inside the Services before any voice clone was created.
• You know which vendors process this data and what they may do with it, as listed in the Privacy Agreement.
• You may withdraw that consent at any time by writing to info@asktheauthor.ai. Withdrawing voice consent deletes your voice clone and turns off the features that need it, including your narration and your twin’s spoken replies. Withdrawing likeness consent deletes your Video Twin photo and the face geometry made from it, and turns off your Video Twin.

The voice we clone is used to narrate your own books and to speak as your own twin. We do not use it for anything else and we do not make it available to anyone else.

6. Your Author Twin

Your twin answers reader questions using your book and the material you gave us. It is an AI speaking as you, and it can be wrong. Readers are told they are talking to a twin, not to you.

You decide whether your twin is live. Turning off publishing takes it down for the public along with the rest of your page. Readers who already bought your book can still use their twin time.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Services to:

• Break the law or infringe anyone’s rights.
• Publish material that is unlawful, defamatory, threatening, harassing, obscene, or deliberately deceptive.
• Impersonate another person, or create a voice, likeness, or twin that is not your own.
• Present your twin’s output as a live statement from a real person rather than as an AI.
• Interfere with the security or integrity of the Services.
• Scrape, reverse engineer, or access the Services through automated means.

We may suspend or close an account that we reasonably judge to be in breach of this section.

8. What we own

Living Forever AI owns the Services themselves: the software, the design, the branding, and the technology behind them. Your content is yours, as set out in Section 4. You may not copy, resell, or reverse engineer the platform.

9. Prices, payment, and hosting

What you pay

Your first chapter is free. You see the finished Chapter 1 package, including the audio in your own voice, before you pay anything.

This agreement does not set prices. What each thing costs is shown to you on our pricing page and again at checkout, before you are charged. That is the price that applies to your purchase.

The Services are sold as:

• A one-time charge to create your book, whether we write it with you from your talking or you bring a manuscript you have already finished.
• Optional one-time add-ons, such as a Kindle-ready file of your book.
• An annual hosting subscription, in tiers set by how many books you can have at once.

We may change prices with reasonable advance notice. A price change never affects something you have already paid for, and a change to your hosting price applies from your next renewal, not the year you have paid for.

Hosting

Your first month of hosting is included in the price of your book. After that month, hosting renews annually at the tier you choose. Your tier sets how many books you can have at once, counting books you are still making and books that are live. An archived book or a book paid with a code does not count. Without a plan, you can have one.

Auto-renewal. Hosting renews automatically each year at the price then in effect until you cancel. You authorize us to charge your payment method for each renewal. We send a reminder before each renewal charge. To cancel, write to info@asktheauthor.ai before your renewal date. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the year you have paid for.

Moving to a larger tier takes effect immediately and is prorated. Moving to a smaller tier takes effect at your next renewal.

If hosting lapses. Your author page, your books, your audiobooks, and your twin stop being publicly reachable. Your content is not deleted, and restarting hosting brings the page back. Readers who already bought your book keep it. A book paid with a code is hosted for life by its own purchase and stays reachable, with your author page and your twin, when other hosting lapses.

Payment processing

Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc., a PCI DSS Level 1 certified processor, on Living Forever AI’s Stripe account. Stripe handles your card details directly. We never receive or store your full card number, security code, or bank details.

Refunds

If you are not satisfied, ask us for a refund within 7 days of the date you paid and we will refund 50% of your purchase.

A refund ends everything that payment gave you. Anything you bought separately is unaffected.

If you believe you were charged in error, write to info@asktheauthor.ai and we will look into it.

Codes

A code is a prepaid code for one book, sold by us or by a partner such as AppSumo. A code is refunded by whoever sold it. A code bought on AppSumo is refunded under AppSumo’s policy: within 60 days of purchase, through AppSumo.

Each code includes:

• One complete book, up to 100,000 words. We write it with you from your answers, or you bring a manuscript you have already finished.
• Your Author Twin, speaking in your own voice or a ready-made voice you choose.
• Your author page at your own web address, yourname.talk2mybook.com.
• A listing for your book in the AskTheAuthor bookstore once you publish it.
• Hosting for your book, your author page, and your twin for the life of AskTheAuthor.
• Downloads of your book once you approve it: a reading PDF, a Kindle-ready file and cover, and paperback files with a print interior and wraparound cover.
• 100 minutes to talk with your own twin, for a year after you approve the book.
• Full ownership of your book, and earnings on every reader purchase (Sections 4 and 10).
• Future updates to everything the code includes.
• Support by email at info@asktheauthor.ai, with a reply within 1 business day.

A code does not expire. A code is used when you start your book. The code comes back to you if you archive the book before you submit Chapter 1, or, for a finished manuscript, before you approve it.

If a code is refunded, the book comes off your author page and cannot be published again. Readers who already bought it keep it and can keep buying time with your twin for it; it is not sold to new readers. You give up any earnings from that book that we have not yet paid you, and you earn nothing on its later sales. You can download what you uploaded and the answers you gave us from your dashboard.

The audiobook and the Video Twin are separate purchases from us and are not part of a code. Readers buy a book paid with a code without the audiobook. The audiobook add-on can be refunded until its narration starts, and not after. If your bank reverses the charge, you lose the audiobook and readers who already bought it keep it.

10. Selling your book and what you earn

Readers can buy your book to read and hear, and packages that add time in conversation with your twin, by voice, or on video once your Video Twin is ready. You earn on every one of them, under the same rule: we keep a flat per-sale fee that covers payment processing and delivery, and you earn a percentage of what is left.

The per-sale fee and your percentage are not fixed by this agreement. We will tell you what they are before you sell anything and give you notice before either changes. A change applies to sales made after it takes effect, never retroactively. What you earned on a sale is worked out when the sale happens and does not move afterwards.

If a reader is refunded, the part of your earning that matches the refunded amount is reversed.

How you get paid. What you earn becomes available 60 days after each sale. Ask for a payout from My Earnings in your dashboard and we pay it by PayPal. We do not run a fixed payout schedule today, and we will give you notice here before we start one.

11. If you are a reader

This section applies to you if you bought a book, talked to an author’s twin, or tried our public demo.

Buying requires a reader account, and you must be 18 or older to have one. You can browse an author’s page and hear their free sample without one. The account is what holds what you have bought, so it stays yours across devices.

What you can buy

An author’s page sells their book to read and to hear in their own voice, and packages that add time in conversation with their twin, by voice or on video. What each includes and what it costs is shown on the page before you buy. Purchases are processed by Stripe.

Conversation packages are sold as an amount of time, and the amount is stated before you buy. That time expires one year after you buy it. Buying the package again adds more time rather than replacing what you have left.

Video conversation with an author’s twin is offered only once the author’s Video Twin is ready.Until then, the author’s page does not sell the Video package.

If an author unpublishes their page or lets hosting lapse, the page comes down for the public. You keep the book and the audiobook, and you can use any twin time you have left until it expires.

Talking to a twin

A twin is an AI, not the author.It answers from the author’s book and the material they gave us. It can be wrong, it does not speak for the author in any binding way, and nothing it says is professional advice. The author does not read your questions in real time.

Your questions and the twin’s answers are recorded, and we delete them a year after the conversation. What we keep and for how long is in our Privacy Agreement.

Do not send a twin anything you would not want stored, including:

• Payment card numbers, passwords, or account credentials.
• Health, financial, or other sensitive information about yourself or anyone else.
• Anything unlawful, harassing, or intended to make the twin misrepresent the author.

What you may do with what you buy

A purchase is a personal, non-transferable license to read and listen for yourself. You may not redistribute, resell, publish, or use the book or its audiobook to train any AI model. The author owns their work, and buying it does not transfer any of that.

12. Your author page

Your page is public once you have paid, activated it, and switched publishing on. Until then it is visible only to you.

Your author photo is stored so that it can be reached by direct link, whether or not your page is published. Do not upload a photo you would not want publicly addressable. The rest of your material, including your recordings, your uploads, your drafts, and your audio, is stored privately.

Your page address is based on the name you choose at signup. We may reclaim an address from an account that never publishes, and we may refuse or change one that infringes a trademark or impersonates someone.

13. Closing your account

You may close your account at any time by writing to info@asktheauthor.ai. When you do:

1. Hosting stops renewing and your page comes down.
2. We delete your recordings, uploads, drafts, audio, photographs, and voice clone from our systems within 30 days, and ask our vendors to do the same in that window.
3. Some records survive as described in our Privacy Agreement: consent records for 3 years, billing records for 7 years.
4. Deletion is permanent. Download anything you want to keep first.

We may suspend or close your account if you breach these Terms, if your use puts other people or our systems at risk, or if the law requires it. Except in urgent cases we will tell you first and give you a chance to get your work out.

14. Privacy

Our Privacy Agreement describes what we collect, who processes it, how long we keep it, and how you get it deleted. It is part of these Terms. Where the two disagree about data handling, the Privacy Agreement governs.

15. Availability and disclaimers

The Services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We make no warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not guarantee the Services will be uninterrupted, error free, or secure. We may change, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Services with reasonable notice. This never reduces what a code includes.

AskTheAuthor is a publishing and conversation platform. Nothing produced through it is legal, financial, medical, or other professional advice, and we do not review your book for accuracy.

16. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent the law allows, Living Forever AI and its officers, directors, employees, and agents are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the Services, including lost data, lost profits, or lost book sales.

Our total liability for all claims relating to these Terms or the Services will not exceed what you paid Living Forever AI in the 12 months before the event that gave rise to the claim.

On biometric claims. Some state laws, including BIPA, provide statutory damages for mishandling biometric data. This section does not limit any right or remedy available to you under those laws.

17. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Living Forever AI, its officers, directors, employees, and agents against claims, damages, losses, and reasonable legal fees arising from:

• Your use of the Services or your breach of these Terms.
• Your content, including any claim that it infringes someone else’s rights.
• Anything you published about another person without the rights or permissions to do so.
• Your breach of any law.

18. Resolving a dispute

Talk to us first

Before filing anything formal, write to info@asktheauthor.ai and give us a chance to sort it out. We will try to resolve it within 30 days of your written notice.

Arbitration

If we cannot resolve it informally, you and Living Forever AI agree to binding individual arbitrationadministered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. Arbitration takes place in the State of Georgia unless we agree otherwise or the AAA rules direct another location. The arbitrator’s decision is final and may be entered as a judgment in any court with jurisdiction.

Class action waiver

You and Living Forever AI agree that any proceeding will be conducted only on an individual basis, not as part of a class, consolidated, or representative action. If a court or arbitrator finds this waiver unenforceable for a particular claim, that claim alone is severed from arbitration and may be brought in court.

What is not covered

• Claims that qualify for small claims court.
• Actions to protect patents, copyrights, trademarks, or trade secrets.
• Claims for injunctive or equitable relief.

State biometric privacy laws, including BIPA, carry their own remedies and a private right of action. Nothing in this section limits a right or remedy available to you under those laws.

19. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We post the revised version here with a new effective date, and we email you about routine updates.

For material changes, particularly to voice and likeness handling, dispute resolution, or what you pay, we give prominent notice and, where the law requires it, ask for your active consent before the change takes effect. If you do not agree with a revision, you may close your account.

20. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, without regard to conflict of law principles.

If you are in a state with a biometric privacy law, including Illinois, Texas, or Washington, that law applies to the handling of your voice and likeness data regardless of this section.
